Frequently, a customer sends us a story about their Pick Up Sticks jewelry that truly touches our hearts. This is such a story. In fact, we all had to stop what we were doing for a while after reading this. We received this e-mail from Erika Martinez in December 2009, and are proud to share it with you. Thank you, Erika, for allowing us the honor of being a very small part of memories with your cousin.

“Hi, my name is Erika Martinez and I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your charms. I also love the fact that you ladies are cousins because the purchase I made this summer means all that much more to me.

I found out about Pick Up Sticks in July 2009 in Pulaski, TN. I was with my cousin Deseré in town visiting from Chicago (who is very much my sister in all respects) and we went to the Jewelry store in Pulaski. We started looking around and happened to find several items from your line of charms. As we were looking, we got excited about a few, but Deseré found one that was perfect for both of us. It was the Sole Sisters charm. We wore the charms proudly, and attached is a picture of the two of us with them on.

The reason these charms meant so much to me is not only are they super cute, but I lost my cousin on October 23rd along with her two children, to a senseless act of violence. I now wear both her charm and mine, and in tribute to her a group of my cousins purchased the charms to wear in honor of her.

Thank you for never straying from your vision. I am grateful to have this little piece of memory of her.”
